The Planets or Graha in Vedic Astrology

The Sun, Sunday, 1

The Sun, consciousness, Yang, gives self-confidence and long-term stability. The Sun is exalted in the sign of Aries, which shows that the Sun is overjoyed at the idea of starting new things. It is a pioneer who is used to being independent. Conversely, the Sun in Libra depends on the comfort of exchanges and trade, which brings tranquility and idleness. The Sun is not a planet made to be sociable; it represents, however, the unity of 1. One could use the analogy of the King who sacrifices everything for his people and who is alone in the world because he has reached the summit that only he himself has reached so far.

The Moon, Monday, 2

The Moon or Yin. The "I". Also represents consciousness but through the reflection of who we truly are, that is, the Sun. The Moon reflects the light of the Sun. Before the period of the Sun, that is, before 50 years, we are only the reflection of our consciousness that grows through the Moon. The Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus; it is therefore linked to our experience through our facial senses, because the 5 senses are linked to Taurus. Aries is the exaltation of the Sun because it represents the brain and the third eye through the horns. Taurus also has horns, and so the third eye is also linked to the Moon. The senses allow us to grow, to understand our physical reality, and thus this separation between the Sun and the Moon. The Moon is said to be "Love sick", eternally in love, sick with love, that is, with God during our separation that occurred during our incarnation on Earth. The more the Sun or the Moon is weak or traumatized by our incarnation, the stronger our desire for God is, and this manifests as a sickness of love. Cancer, the natural sign of the Moon, represents our consciousness that grows and evolves eternally, never being satisfied with the result, because the result that our traumatized consciousness seeks is God or the Sun or this movement between the Moon and the Sun through Yin and Yang.
